Did you know how many cities around the world start with the letter A? The answer is heaps! Actually I'm not sure exactly as the different websites show different amounts and I've seen some towns listed as cities........I know they are only towns because I've been there! I guess different people call different things cities, I remember years ago being told that if there was a cathedral in the 'town' then that made it a city, no cathedral - no city! I'm not sure if that was just another piece of misinformation from my childhood or if it was true - I'd love to hear your thoughts below.
Athens, is of course in Greece and I love the Greek inspired t-shirt above as I fell in love with Greece when I was in my teens. I've visited Rhodes, Greece, and Cyprus on various different holidays and fell in love with octopus, not ouzo, the history, the mythology (well these two predated the first visit, but....), the little villages, the people, the prickly pears, the beautiful sun and sea. Basically I'm surprised that when I left college I ended up half way around the world while one of my college friends ended up living in one of the Greek Isles - I thought it would always be the other way around!
Anyway Athens is a great place to visit if you get the chance, if you don't then just wear the t-shirt! Here's three Athens tees to choose from -
Of course as I said a friend of mine ended up in Athens while I went halfway around the world - New Zealand. A large city in New Zealand who likes to think of itself as the capital, but it's not is Auckland!
Auckland is where I landed in my new country half a lifetime ago and is where my brother and his family live now. It's known as the City of Sails and is the place most of our visitors got their first glimpse of New Zealand from. If you haven't been to New Zealand you're missing out so hurry up and visit, but in the mean time you could just buy an Auckland t-shirt, start calling people bro and saying 'sweet as' and you're part way there!
I hope you've enjoyed these two different selections of tees - they're a great way of starting off a travel t-shirt collection. Join me next Thursday for another destination .......or two :D

Now back to tees, I was trying to think what places started with the letter A so that I could showcase some of their t-shirts for you and I realized that there's a couple of cities that I have visited that begin with the letter A so let's start with Athens
