Athens Tees & Auckland Tees - Travel T-Shirts

Did you know how many cities around the world start with the letter A?   The answer is heaps!   Actually I'm not sure exactly as the different websites show different amounts and I've seen some towns listed as cities........I know they are only towns because I've been there!   I guess different people call different things cities, I remember years ago being told that if there was a cathedral in the 'town' then that made it a city, no cathedral - no city!   I'm not sure if that was just another piece of misinformation from my childhood or if it was true - I'd love to hear your thoughts below.

Now back to tees, I was trying to think what places started with the letter A so that I could showcase some of their t-shirts for you and I realized that there's a couple of cities that I have visited that begin with the letter A so let's start with Athens

Athens, is of course in Greece and I love the Greek inspired t-shirt above as I fell in love with Greece when I was in my teens.   I've visited Rhodes, Greece, and Cyprus on various different holidays and fell in love with octopus, not ouzo, the history, the mythology (well these two predated the first visit, but....), the little villages, the people, the prickly pears, the beautiful sun and sea.   Basically I'm surprised that when I left college I ended up half way around the world while one of my college friends ended up living in one of the Greek Isles - I thought it would always be the other way around!

Anyway Athens is a great place to visit if you get the chance, if you don't then just wear the t-shirt!   Here's three Athens tees to choose from -

Of course as I said a friend of mine ended up in Athens while I went halfway around the world - New Zealand.   A large city in New Zealand who likes to think of itself as the capital, but it's not is Auckland!

Auckland is where I landed in my new country half a lifetime ago and is where my brother and his family live now.   It's known as the City of Sails and is the place most of our visitors got their first glimpse of New Zealand from.   If you haven't been to New Zealand you're missing out so hurry up and visit, but in the mean time you could just buy an Auckland t-shirt, start calling people bro and saying 'sweet as' and you're part way there!

I hope you've enjoyed these two different selections of tees - they're a great way of starting off a travel t-shirt collection.   Join me next Thursday for another destination .......or two :D

Tees with Memories

I was very lucky a few weeks ago to find a Born in the USA t-shirt, it was totally unexpected as I was actually looking through some cheap, I mean economically sensible, shirts for hubby when I spotted it.   Apparently my eyes lit up so hubby had to say those words we all love to hear - "Buy it!" I used to love Bruce Springsteen's Born in the USA album and would play it constantly as a teen.   I was very considerate towards my family by the way - I always made sure that the record player ( yes, the album was on vinyl) was turned up loud so that they could all enjoy the Boss belting out his songs! Buying the t-shirt brought back lots of memories and isn't it great that a simple piece of clothing could do that?   That is the beauty of t-shirts, you can wear them in comfort while reliving past memories.   March 21st is National Memory Day so why don't you celebrate the day by wearing a tee that brings back memories for you? My hubby was looking for Bluto t-s...

T-Shirt Sale!

I purchase my t-shirts in lots of places both online and offline, but one of the companies that have some awesome t-shirts available to purchase online have just informed me of a sale which I thought I would share with you. Teeshirtsrock.com are the company in question, so if you're looking for a great tee at a cool price check them out today and use the coupon code REMEMBER11 for 35% off from now until Sunday and don't say I don't give you anything :) My hubby may finally get a Hangover 2 t-shirt as they have a couple on the site whereas I really can't decide what t-shirt I'm going to buy. I sell a lot of Katy Perry t-shirts through this site as they have a great selection at affordable prices.......and that's without the extra 35% off. My daughter's birthday is coming up so I may just buy her a Justin Bieber t-shirt, this site has loads of them available so it might even be a good idea for me to purchase a few for when it's her friend's birthda...

Rainy Day T-Shirts

Well it has been a really wet start to the summer here in South East Queensland - although NSW aren't fairing much better if pictures on the news are anything to go on. This is the view of one of our local footy grounds yesterday afternoon. This morning the sun was shining and I thought woo hoo! Very happy as I had to go in to school and see dd's teacher instead of using the drop off zone - my umbrella's broken and I haven't replaced it so getting wet wasn't appealing to me. Just before lunch the clouds opened up again and I can see a little river running rapidly down the road along the gutters.....I hate to think what the footy field looks like right now. So this blog is about t-shirts, why am I writing about rain??? I thought I'd see what rain inspired tees I could find to feature on a rainy day blog! This one really tickled my fancy, although hubby didn't really get it when I showed him! Every Time it Rains, it Rains Rain by larryunderwo...
