I Love Wearing a Guinness T-Shirt!

A Guinness t-shirt is my favorite type of Guinness clothing, although I should mention that my hubby prefers to wear a Guinness rugby shirt!
I do have a bias as I love nothing more than to slip into a pair of jeans and pull on a t-shirt, but the Guinness shirts in general seem to hold a huge appeal to a lot of people.

I wonder what Arthur Guinness (the founder of the Guinness empire) would think of all of the Guinness clothing that's worn around the world if he were to be transported into the 21st Century?

Arthur Guinness started brewing Guinness way back in 1759, he first exported it to England in 1769 and in the centuries since then Guinness has been exported around the world even as far away as Australia where it is enjoyed immensely. Guinness must surely be one of Ireland's most well known exports and in recent decades we've seen the Guinness name put to other things besides the creamy stout that made it world famous - namely clothing.


The most famous Guinness clothing has to be the Guinness t-shirts - why their popularity? Well apart from the fact that t-shirts are universally loved I think it's the variety of styles of Guinness shirts that are available as well as the fact that Guinness is very much an iconic brand. Now I must admit I don't really 'love' this shirt myself, but when I was working in a shop that stocked Guinness merchandise it was one of our biggest selling Guinness shirts that we stocked so it's definitely a popular choice.



The idea behind this shirt (I think) is that Guinness was thought to give you strength and be full of goodness which is why this worker could carry a steel beam by himself.

I was very lucky a few weeks ago to find a Born in the USA t-shirt, it was totally unexpected as I was actually looking through some cheap, I mean economically sensible, shirts for hubby when I spotted it.   Apparently my eyes lit up so hubby had to say those words we all love to hear - "Buy it!" I used to love Bruce Springsteen's Born in the USA album and would play it constantly as a teen.   I was very considerate towards my family by the way - I always made sure that the record player ( yes, the album was on vinyl) was turned up loud so that they could all enjoy the Boss belting out his songs! Rainy Day T-Shirts

Well it has been a really wet start to the summer here in South East Queensland - although NSW aren't fairing much better if pictures on the news are anything to go on. This is the view of one of our local footy grounds yesterday afternoon. This morning the sun was shining and I thought woo hoo! Very happy as I had to go in to school and see dd's teacher instead of using the drop off zone - my umbrella's broken and I haven't replaced it so getting wet wasn't appealing to me. Five Fun T-Shirts for Women
